Coginiti 26.10 Release Notes

October 31, 2026 · 4 min read

Coginiti 26.10 brings analysis, authoring, and access together around the semantic layer. Analytics Playbooks turn a question into a complete, AI-generated analysis grounded in your governed metrics. Forge can now author the semantic layer directly, and the Coginiti MCP Server opens that layer to external AI clients under OAuth. This release also unifies lineage across CoginitiScript and semantic models, adds domain-level permissions with provisioning APIs, imports and exports Apache Ossie models for two-way semantic interchange, broadens semantic platform coverage to Databricks, Oracle, Db2, and Netezza, and adds MySQL and Palantir Foundry as data platforms.

Analytics Playbooks

Analytics Playbooks generate a complete analysis from a question, combining tables, charts, KPI tiles, and written conclusions into a single result you can read, share, and act on. Rather than returning a lone query result, a Playbook assembles the supporting evidence and the takeaway together.

Playbook mode guides the workflow, prompt suggestions are drawn from your semantic layer so the starting points reflect your governed metrics and business logic, and a generation progress view shows the analysis being built as it runs. Because the suggestions and outputs are grounded in the semantic layer, the analysis speaks in the same definitions your teams and tools already use.

Forge Semantic-Layer Authoring

Forge can now author the semantic layer for you. New tools and skills let the agent edit SMDL files and project manifests and create or update semantic connections, so you can build and evolve your semantic model through Forge rather than editing every definition by hand. This brings semantic modeling into the same conversational, agent-driven workflow Forge already provides for the rest of your analytics work.

Coginiti MCP Server

The Coginiti MCP Server connects external AI clients to your catalog and semantic layer through the Model Context Protocol. This release adds OAuth-authorized access so external clients authenticate securely, Claude Desktop connector bundles for straightforward setup, and catalog write tools that let connected agents create and update catalog assets, not just read them. Administrators can configure result limits to keep agent interactions bounded and governed.

Unified Lineage

Lineage is now a single experience spanning both CoginitiScript and semantic models. Building on the semantic lineage graph from 26.8, unified lineage traces data flow across your CoginitiScript transformations and your semantic model in one view, including semantic entities backed by CoginitiScript blocks. Cross-project navigation lets you follow lineage across project boundaries, so you can see the full path from source transformation to published metric regardless of where each piece lives.

Semantic Domains and Permissions

Coginiti adds domain-level access control to the semantic layer. You can grant access at the domain level and select a domain on a connection, giving you a clear boundary for governing who can work with which semantic content. New public HTTP APIs let you provision permissions programmatically and inspect effective access for a user, making it straightforward to automate governance and audit who can see what.

Apache Ossie Import and Export

Coginiti now exchanges semantic models with the broader ecosystem in both directions. You can import Apache Ossie-formatted models into catalog projects as native SMDL entities, and export your Coginiti semantic models back out as Ossie. Apache Ossie (incubating), formerly Open Semantic Interchange, is an open, vendor-neutral format for exchanging semantic models across analytics, BI, and AI tools.

Import lets you bring a model authored in any Ossie-compatible tool into Coginiti without rewriting its definitions, lowering the cost of adopting Coginiti alongside an existing semantic stack. Export lets you share Coginiti definitions with any tool that reads Ossie. Together they make Coginiti a two-way participant in a shared semantic ecosystem rather than another silo.

Semantic Execution and Deployment

This release expands where and how the semantic layer runs. Databricks, Oracle, Db2, and Netezza are now supported as semantic platforms, HTTP execution and metadata APIs continue the unified API surface introduced earlier this year, and Coginiti now supports an externally deployed semantic server, letting you run the semantic server separately from the main application to fit your deployment and scaling requirements.

Database Integrations

Coginiti adds MySQL as a supported database platform. This release also introduces initial platform support for Palantir Foundry, along with the ability to browse Foundry datasets as an object-store integration, so you can work with Foundry data through the same Object Stores experience you use elsewhere.

CoginitiScript Editor Improvements

The CoginitiScript editor gains expanded correctness linting to catch more problems as you write. LLM blocks now receive the same editor support as SQL, including completion, hover documentation, and go-to-definition, so authoring AI-powered pipelines feels as fluent as authoring SQL.

Security and Stability

This release includes security patches, dependency updates, and bug fixes across platform services.
