Coginiti v22.6 is now available for download. This release adds several updates, including an easier setup process for Generic JDBC connections and new CoginitiScript capabilities.
Easier Generic JDBC Connection Setup
Coginiti users enjoy deep native database object support for over a dozen platforms such as Snowflake, BigQuery, and Redshift. Last fall Coginiti users gained the additional ability to interact with virtually any other modern database through a Generic JDBC connection, extending access to platforms such as Oracle and Teradata.
Our July 2022 release makes setting up a Generic JDBC connection even easier. After uploading the JDBC driver, Coginiti now automatically pulls in the Class name from the driver file itself. This streamlined setup process also works when configuring a custom JDBC driver for any of our natively supported platforms.
New CoginitiScript Capabilities
Version 22.4 introduced the groundwork for CoginitiScript, a framework for reusable code blocks which can be used to build flexible SQL pipelines with versioned, shareable, and referenceable code. We’re excited to announce some new CoginitiScript capabilities now available in our July release.
Using CoginitiScript, you’ll now have the ability to:
- Define publication of block results to a table
- Define block arguments and pass values to blocks at call time.
- Pass a block as an argument into another block
See the CoginitiScript language reference on our support site for details.
Additional Updates and Improvements
This release also includes several bug fixes, performance improvements, and enhancements. One such enhancement: we’ve made reading the summary output for our recently released Quick Stats for Query Results feature easier Quick Stats for Query Results feature by formatting numbers with thousand separators and two decimal places.
